Dinner Meetings

Want to know how adidas dropped its Fever Bomb on the Japanese market just before the 2002 World Cup kickoff? How about Lego’s colorful strategy to build business and inspire youngsters throughout the 21st Century?

These are just two of the many in-depth topics and exciting presentations from recent FCC monthly dinner meetings. Held on the third Tuesday of every month at the City Club of Tokyo in the heart of downtown Tokyo, these meetings serve as Japan’s premiere networking event for communications professionals.

Swap meishi in a relaxed and classy atmosphere. Over drinks and a three-course, sit-down dinner, listen to the latest industry news and gossip from around town. And towards the end of the evening, see an informative presentation from the world’s leading communications professionals while sipping your choice of beverage (coffee or tea). But reserve your seat ahead of time, because seats are limited.

Past presenters have included Akebono, sumo champion, Hiroo Mori, Managing Director Mori Building, Satoshi Amagi, President of Sony’s Entertainment Robot Co., Mike Inman, President of Virgin Entertainment, and Alan Chan of Alan Chan Designs in Hong Kong. And of course adidas and Lego.

Symposium

Long, long ago, when Tokyo was Edo, and FCC members searched for communications enlightenment along the Sumidagawa, the FCC sponsored a gasshuku -- an annual weekend retreat filled with intense seminars and hands-on workshops.

Then it was Edo. Now it’s Tokyo. And let’s face it, people are just busier.

So instead of a weekend search for zen and the art of communications, we trimmed it down, packed it with power, and offered it to you over the course of one day. We call it the Symposium, and as past years have proved, you don’t have to rush off to the hills to find true meaning.

Take the 2001 FCC Marketing and Communications Symposium for example. Presenters from all walks of advertising, TV, marketing, and the Internet engaged a packed house of communications gurus. Topics included women in advertising, brand analysis, current market trends, and future predictions. Even a few secrets to leading a successful and prosperous life in Tokyo were revealed amongst the talks and presentations. How’s that for enlightenment?
